Thank you for your answer, but it didn't answer the question. There are lots of Automation systems and protocols for automation systems, the question was, why KNX can help and be a better choice then other systems.

When this question was added there were more then 300 brands woring in KNX, today there are more then 400 brands and growing! Brands like ABB, Siemens, Schneider, Hager, JUNG, GIRA, Merten, Theben and much more. All related to electricity and all with lots of years of experiance!

If you look at one building, there are a lot of subsystems working as islands, not speaking with each other! KNX with more then 400 brands and solution, can integrate all the system important information and create a smart grid, in a green building, a smart city, and a green world.

A system that runs around one brand, is limited to the products of that brand! Thats why KNX can help integrate systems and creating a greener world.

We live in a world of integrated society, by our smart phones.. the system can detect when we are about to reach home and to start the AC to reach its optimum tempertature before we reach. the lights gets closed once we move out of house, the water level is maintained with out spill over.. It make not look a lot of energy saving on daily basises  but multiply by yearly waste and all the housing units combined! we can then appreciate that every drop counts

Automation systems are the future of controlling our energy use,  its inevitable to happen, today or tommorow or day after that for every single home. If you want to enter into the next phase of our civilization.
