When you are at a senior level in your career and you work in a field that Is new to the region, many companies have realized the importance of having an expert on the subject matter in the company, but the issue that I face is that because of the lack of knowledge in my specific field and the many popularized wrong practices in the industry, HR Managers and mostly company mangers ask all the wrong questions during an interview!
How can you correct them without offending them?
There are always two options, if you want to land a job or not.
if you want it, you will be polite and say " as per my best knowledge and expertise "you go on", however i will double check it again and get back to you, if you want me to. You can always be polite and clear, if the HR managers has no ability to listen to your point and judge you on this , you better stay away. on the other part, you don't have to be rude and over portraying your grip on the subject. Modest way is the best way. You maybe saying right, but your way of addressing will be the core concern of HR.

Simply by providing them with a position specific interview guideline / metrics.
I somehow thought that this question is politically incorrect.
If I am the interviewee, I can simply say "I did not see that coming but nevertheless a very nice question."
If he/she happens to be my coleague, I'll correct him right away.
