there you can give a simple curriculum of graphic design to infuse the culture of visual thinking. student with this age can make advertisement using "collage" of magazine and their photos, they can design icons and logos using colored papers-scissors and shape rulers.

I do not prefer teaching computer software, to unleash their creativity.

Before any sketching, drawing, software and Esc… with a simple practices I make them to solve creativity test. So when we reach to the main subject their brain is already ready to design and create out of the box.

Every single time it works brilliantly.

It just makes your work difficult to find a right test :)

1. first I teach them how to motivate their illustration and design skills by hand, not on computers. Understand typography, spatial relationships, and how to communicate visually.

2. keeping a sketchbook. Draw and write in it every day.

3. when time, learning and mastering software such as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Flash.

3. start taking on jobs from real clients. Ask if you can do it for a very low fee, or maybe even free. Don't worry about money right now, you need experience.

Read up on blogs and websites (such as this one: http://examplify.blogspot.com ) and magazines like CommArts. Check Craigslist for student jobs.

Also I'll keep in their mind that being a graphic designer is more than just the creative side, eventually you'll have to learn a little bit about business.
