Gypsum first of all are of many kinds... GRG,GRC,GRP.... Where GR stands for Gypsum reinforced.... G for glass, C for Cement and P for Plastic.
Secondly these have different applications.
GRG is generally of two types, cast in situ and ready made gypsum sheets of 1.22 x2.44 size.
Both are used majorly for internal usage.
They have different types in terms of fire retardation and water resistance or simply Plain.
The thickness of readymade sheets vary.
GRC is used for external façade works as it has better water resistance quality.
GRP is used for special projects with high end finishes and better stability.
Gypsum Board partitions are generally used inside the store or unit, to separate the units or for wall claddings(to make the surface even and aligned) so as to take the final furniture or finish on walls.
These are done by generally ready made sheets of above sizes.
These are of single skin(incase of wall cladding)
double skin(in case of mid free standing partitions)... double skin can also be one side Gypsum sheets and one side MDF sheet, MDF sheet is provided generally where heavy display on hanging shelves or where load is going to be imposed on the wall.
These again can be simple, water resistant or fire resistant.
simple sheet is generally white in color, fire resistant is pinkish and water resistant is greenish.
There are also cement boards used for partitions where there is heavy dampness, in kitchen where exposed flame is being done and for better stability.
For ceiling again all 3 types of sheets are used based on site conditions.... for hanging the ready made sheets a mat of runners and studs is suspended from the main RCC slab bottom with either suspensions or threaded rods(depending on load) after install, the joints are ripped and tapped with sealant and putty, first coat primer and 2 coats of paint.
Furniture fit out can be custom made or template(for bigger brands) in retail and generally custom made for domestic furniture.
