Should the operation managers have good team management skills?

There is no doubt in it. Operation manager cannot be succeed without having good Management Skills

An ops manager is one of your most senior team leaders and should have EXCELLENT team management skills.
He must see his/her team management principles flow downsteam from his/her position to influence positively all memebers of the greater team and the business as a whole.

The team members should be motivated to align their personal goals with the team goal of higher production with least cost without compromising on quality.
