Your manager asked you to do the "Dirty Job": firing one of your employees. The reasons are too weak. What will you do?

It is not appropriate to fire someone outside procedures. Reminding the procedures to the manager for rejecting his request through rite way. And trying to solve reason behind his request.

I can not lay off any one of employees without a strong legal reasons. I will explain for the manager that a mentioned reasons are illegal and very weak to lay off an employee, perhaps we are exposed to accountability and punishment if we are do it. Also I will try calling the employee to a discuss meeting , for asking him about that reasons which mentioned by the manager, then I prepare a report and send it to the manager to notify him of the results of the investigation, and recommend appropriate retribution less than a lay off the employee.

As an employee,I believe that I am obligated to follow what my superior ask me to do for as long as it follows my ideals and principles in life. However, as a human who have morals in life, I also believe that I am obligated to be a rightful citizen showing concern and attentive to the needs to my fellow men. Thus, i do not intend to do dirty jobs because I regard my work as a reputable career which entails respect and self regard.

No, i would rather suggest my manager to apply a term EPT ( Employee Performance Test). This is the only solution to analyse whether a candidate is really low performer or is being targetted for any other issue. In this test a candidate will be asked to sign a document in which he/she agrees that if they fails to proove their skills in a perticular time and decided target. If they achieve it, it will be considered that the manager has shown his skills to improve his teams performance. An if they fails, they themselve will come to know that they are not fit for the job. Only then the management will have a valid reason behind the termination and the candidate will not object to the decision. Hence there will be a true justice both for an employer and an employee. Hope my answer justifies. Azher qureshi.

Firing people decisions must be made by authorized people;If my manager has the authorization to fire employees so he/she must do that !

And let say he/she is asking me to do that for whatever the reason I should follow procedures in making sure that this employee deserves to be fired or not ! Even this employees is weak, I cannot fire him or her directly without previous notice about the performance.
