i am not sure about techniques which designers don't know, but many of graphic designers don't go for using smart objects as a proxy techniques to save time consuming.
I would say use of 'Smart Objects' - as I still feel most artist still apply filters directly to layers rather than thinking about opting for 'attainability of filter settings which you benefit from using the new feature.
In the olden days you'd split the layers a lot stacking, then grouping, etc. Smart Objects is a great way to keep the layers fewer. This can be great on computer resources to save an amount of RAM free.
Keyboard Shortcuts - Many would already know how important this subject is if your spending huge amount of time in any application.
Keyboard shortcuts is one of the techniques that most designer find difficult to understand or use during their designing. colour sampling or selection technique is another techniques that designer stumble alot to achieve the right colour for their design. smart object is also one techniques that most designer don't know about
the most & most important thing is blending options, designer & photo editors both can use it in diffrent ways, effects are also have a key role in photoshop, but long story short, every tool in photoshop has his own unique features, so its up to designer how much he expertise in photoshop & how much he go deeper in this ocean of designing
CC and7 because its very best photoshop
PEN TOOL , FILTER BRUSHES AND GRADIENT GIVE YOU THE BEST BACKGROUND FOR THE BEST DESIGN
Strategy is the best techniques.
Keeping an open mind is the best technique!
One of my favorite techniques with photoshop is called Orton Imagery. You can google and look it up. But it is basically layering the same image2 -3 times with different exposures, one of the layers is blurred, and then you blend them together with the blending modes. It gives a very artistic look, plus room to experiment because you have something like15 different blending modes to choose from. Each one will make it look a little different.
Also, I found this new really awesome plug in called Lucis Arts. There are several options on this, but the one I like the best is called "Exposure" and it gives your image good contrast, and it sharpens all the edges to give an interesting effect.
In indian Photostudio bussiness , most of the photo studio owners who clicks photograps , don't know the logics behind the photoshop application. they just go on using the photo shop by learning from the seniors who even don't know either . but the techniques the most graphic designers dont know - the logic behind the amount of feather selection .
I noticed that almost 99% of studio graphic designer use value in decimal numbers like 1.5 , 2.5 , 3.5 pixel etc. which is wrong.
Another thing they do to survive in the market using low version of Photoshop Software and Action Tool.
I think Keyboard shortcuts save time for any designer, also Smart Obgects save time. I don't Know all designers use this techniques or not.
