Each topic gives some room for the teacher to connect it with real life situation. It demands careful planning and what we call 'teachers' skill' to make proper use of what he knows, read, acquired or experienced. Anyway, no teaching is effective unless it is linked to life skills.
Too much theory is always boring; to make your subjects more lively, make interactive presentations and provide current and live examples (tell personal or your friends experience) to explain the difficult concepts. This will make your subject most interesting and students will remember forever.
Main object of education is to provide life skills in students, education with out lifeskills is nothing
because they become a civilized person of the state, for example, empathy, sympathy, tolerance, sacrifice, helping, love, respect, etc.
I can recommend the following methods to incorporate life skills in the teaching process:
1) Story-telling, especially if you host professionals to talk about these skills
2) Hands-on experience in the lab (if you are describing a professional skill) or field trips to locations where the skill is deonstrated (work area for example)
3) role-playing: organize the students into groups and have them demonstrate some life skills to their class through acting.

As per experience in the academe for almost a decade, i always start with motivation before delivering the lesson. Give the students examples on how a particular lesson can be used in life or show them success stories of other individual excelling in the same lesson as being discussed always help in bridging the gap between what is taught in the classroom and with how it is used in real life. Integrating life skills into teaching is not only required but a must for students to feel the relevance of their studies.
By presenting examples and educational activities of life and the environment in which they live and providing an appropriate learning environment that mimics the environment in which they live or dream
