To keep the Oracle system effective, we need to take proper steps to keep it in a healthy state by applying Patches when ever available from Oracle Site, and we have to plan the Backups of the databases like using

Rman Backups, Import/Export, Datapumps. And we can configure for the Disaster Recovery by using Standby Database. And we configure the Real Application Cluster (RAC) for load balancing and/7 Availability. For the database to be available hassle free we need to do the Pro-Active Performance Tuning as well.
