What is a maximum height between Oudoor unit and Indoor unit for Mult V systems, VRF systems and super heat recovery mult systems ?

According to Installation Manual of therecommendations' HITACHI Company Split – Unit Air Conditioner.

The difference in height between the indoor and outdoor unit should be kept below5m.The connecting pipe, no matter big or small.

In case the pipe length is more than20m, add refrigerant R410A at10 gram per every meter exceeds. However, pipe length shall not exceed30m.

It is always advisable to keep the outdoor unit at the height above the indoor unit. If the outdoor unit is kept at level below the indoor, some of the compressor power is used in pumping the refrigerant against the gravity, thus reducing the overall performance of the compressor.there is always some loss of refrigerant effect to the atmosphere from these tubing, hence the distance between the indoor and the outdoor unit should be kept as minimum as possible to reduce the loss of the cooling effect.
