I believe patience and empathy are key to getting on with others.

At the end of the day we are all human's - we all have emotions, things going on in our lives, personality traits, and it would be impossible to try to get to know everyone that well, that you would know all these parts of their psyche - thus, the easiest way to deal with the near infinite combinations of human personalities, it to be patient and realise that although the person in front you is annoying you, or angering you or whatever the case may be - they are just another human, just like yourself and if you got beneath their outer "façade", you would most likely find someone who you could really get on with.

Work atmosphere is a place where we find people of different native, community, culture and religion working under one roof.  If you really want to have a good and healthy work atmosphere, then it is I factor which counts here not  THEY or YOU.  One should be adjustable, not to criticize or complain rather be pro active and understanding, accept correction in a positive manner, be polite and kind, Good command over your language. most of all be dedicated and committed towards at a given period of time,
