QUALITY COMPROMISE IS NOT NEW TO PROFESSIONALS. I CAN ONLY SAY LACK OF MANAGEMENT COMMITTMENT GAVE COURAGE TO THESE KIND OF LEADERS AND TRUST ME NO BODY SAY SECOND CLASS?
YOU SHOULD RECORD THE SITUATION AND ATLEAST TELL HIM ONCE THAT IT IS NOT IN COMPLIANCE WITH THE STANDARDS OF THE COMPANY.
IF LEADER CONTINUE WITH THE SAME ATTITUDE TRUST ME MANAGEMENT IS BEHIND HIM SO LEAVE IT.
A good Answer by Shaheer Hassan, but this answer reflects the Existing trend in Pakistan. I feel that it all comes down to an individuals commitment to Quality. Remember ignoring Quality is similar to simply kicking your product out of contention. If the senior management asks you to ignore it then it is better to keep records and a proper inspection system that is able to highlight Causes for Quality depreciation.
It is a wonderful question that most of us or to be more exact, all of us face. At times our managers/team leaders tell us to overlook quality as it is not the primary concern of our existing customers or for the sake of cost cutting a substandard material is purchased for making product.
In this scenario, all we do is stick to our standards and declare that the product made is below standard or rejected and a written note is demanded from management to pass the product on deviation. Records are kept for future and customer feedback is asked at a regular interval of time.
