It partly depends on the type of person you are but I would say ideally a large company where you will learn a lot about systems and procedures than after a few years of working it's okay to work for a small company and use what you have learned and improve on what you think could be done better.

Working for a small companie will helkp you to develop more general skill, were working for a large company will help you develop more specialized skills in one or more department

It is depending on your skill set and qualification. If a small company offering good prospect and growth opportunit, there is no harm in joining it. Also big companies give more exposure to major challenges and experinces. However there will be more competition and possibl less growth opporunities. Once can do background check and preliminary investigation about career opportunies before joining a small or big firm.

In the begining one must gain expereince and it does not matter whether it is from big or small company. If so interetsed in big, then getting selected through campus recruitment is only the option.
