Brand image connects consumers and products together. brand image consumers are not paying for the product but customers are paying for the reward or loyalty that come with it. A good example is Nike. Nike started out by selling shows and now has outlet stores with all kind of clothing, garments, and off course shows. The products' category is standardized however consumers are paying the extra bucks without realizing the value of the goods. Brand image build customer satisfaction that the products that consumers are buying is being used in the popular media and it's quality approved.
However, the real test of product design, attributes, characteristics and marketing research comes for products that do not have any product image and are not being used by popular culture. The perception of products without brand image cartels against quality, consumers' persona, and dignity.
Brand Image is being commonly practiced by large corporations and a difficult obstacle for products to overcome without brand image. Nowadays, a common practice for brand image and recognition is advertising on mass media with a celebrity to gain customers' confidence.
