D G means that the source of electricity is near the loads and the system has to modes of operation :
1- on grid : which means that the system is connected to the grid via switch in close position
2- of grid : which means that the system is separated from grid (the switch is open) and so the load is supplied from the DG which may be renewable station ( solar or wind ) or it may be diesel generator
the of grid mode may be used when their is a problem on the grid ( overloading or black out ) and so the reliability of the system will increase
When any generating source connected to the main grid in distribution end (i.e. DG) the system will become Micro Grid. The impect of DG in microgrid is different in different operation. If we use Feeder flow control configration then the DG supply to the Peak and base load on mains. If unit power flow control configration is used then the DGs supply Base load and peak load provided by main grid.
There are two mode of operation of microgrid:
Consider the DG is the main source (prime) of the distribution network, it plays as the supply entity and should properly sized to cover the entire network. If it acts as the emergency source(standby), we can consider the loads to be connected in case such failure of mains source. This is to facilitate and distinguish the critical & non-critical loads to operated during emergency failures. Such cases, DG's shouldn't forget in short circuit calculation with its effect.
Works as micro grid.
It works on 2 modes ,Grid mode and island mode thru switching . Cans be thru different means Like SCR,PLc Relays etc for Close and open Position.
When distribution Generators are connected in Distribution system, it loses its radial nature of system, hence coordination with protective devices occur due to changes in short circuit levels in different location.
VARIABLE POWER LOSS FROM D TO D.
The impact of distributed generation (DG) on voltage sags in a distribution network depends on the design of the protection system and the coordination between the different protective devices. DG changes the radial nature of distribution systems and affects the performance of the protection system.
Voltage Profile and energy loses, but it has some draw backs like voltage drop and power losses.
if you have electricity generator besides the main supply and u want to connect it in such a way that when there exist any problem in main supply (in case of Load shedding or black outs ) then u should not have to face any interruption in Electricity supply ... we can simply say it as an intrupted power supply , the electricity generator and Main supply of electricity are connected to DG and when there occour any problem in main power supply then with out any intruption the secondary source will provide u electricity
thank you
The importance of DG is to have own power generation in case of power interruption occurred in the facilities or in the respective areas.
changed in the nature of the distribution system and around the traditional system to the effective system
