Can you tell me more about "re marketing" in the Google display network?

As one of Google's products, ReMarketing has proven to be one of the most brilliant source of traffic.. yet, it is some how uncontrollable and unpredictable. How does my ad appear among other advertisers? More questions about it are to come :)

Remarketing Means when visitors visit the website for the first time , the code from the Google  save some information for remaketing in internet cookies.
Now You can show your ads to that visitor on other Google adsence enabled website the visitor will visit.

I haven't used Google's remarketing extensively, but here's what I would guess:

With remarketing, you can define target audiences based on how your site visitors behave on your site.  For example, you can create an audience bucket for all visitors who visited your registration page, and you can create another bucket for all visitors who actually registered.  What you can then do is target a campaign to ALL visitors who visited your registration page EXCEPT all visitors who already registered.  Your campaign would aim to draw back visitors who did not convert to a registration for whatever reason.

In that sense, I would argue that remarketing is very controllable.

Now when and how many times your ad appears would probably depend on a combination of your bid rates and how Google asseses the quality of your account and campaign.  So it's just as unpredictable as any search or display ad you have on Google.  Your ad would enter a bid, compete with all other eligible ads for a particular slot, and the best man wins, so to speak.

I wouldn't be so concerned about when and where the ad appears. You would just have to adjust your bid and campaign settings accordingly until you have an impression number and CTR you're happy with.  Still, you should be able to look at your automatic placements report for your remarketing campaign to identify sites that tend to perform better than others and place higher bids on them.  (Again, I'm guessing here as I haven't used remarketing extensively.)

Obviously, I'm putting this in simplistic terms, but that's the gist of remarketing campaigns.

Generally remarketing campaign created for the user who already visited your site. We show ads to the user in based on different criteria, such as interest based ads. for that we have to create remarketing list in google analytics to get the list in adwords.

Once a person clicks on your ad, the person gets added into your remarketing list. The person will then be able to see your ads wherever he goes to a website which is included in the Google Display Newtork. These ads can be in the form of text ads and image ads. The person would be able to see the remarketing ad till the time the person does not clear or deletes the cookies. Also you can put a cap on the number of impressions, you want a user to see. For example, if u put a limit on the number of impressions to1000 per day, a user will be able to see your ad only1000 times a day
