What is the difference between STP & VTP

Tow of them related to switches , the vtp protocol function to share a vlan between switches and mange them , and the stp protocol function is to block the looping 

• STP stands for spanning tree protocol and VTP stads for VLAN Trunking protocol.

 

STP: Spanning Tree Protocol is for preventing loops on a network to determine designated, root, forwarding or blocked port using bridge priority numbers and path costs. VTP: VLAN Trunking Protocol is use to propagate VLAN information across switches. We have server, client and transparent status. A switch updates it VLAN information with the switch with the highest priority number. Server updates a client thus a client switch cannot update its local VLAN information. A transparent switch forwards Vlan information to other switches but allows it's local Vlan to be updated locally.

STP stands for spanning tree protocol and VTP stads for VLAN Trunking protocol.

STP is by default on in all switches to avoid loop. VTP operates in a domain where switches operates in three modes : server, client and transparent.

VTP Server propagates all VLAN which are created   or removed in server to all VTP client in the same VTP domain.

VTP Clients are not allowed to create VLAN. They receive VLAN information from the VTP server.

Transparent switches maintain their own separate VLAN database, and will neither advertise nor accept any VLAN database information from the switches, even a server.

STP (Spanning Tree Protocole) is used to avoid and resolve loops  in a network , The VTP (VLAN Trunking protocole ) is used to controle and manage trunking networks ..it means if you have a lot of switch in a network you can design a switch in mode Server to update and controle the other switchs ( mode client or transparent) without moving to the location ..

vtp it is a protocol that can be advertise the vlans network in switch ofrom a server switch that has same domain name and low revesion number stp it is a protocol used for stop the loops in the network by blocking one link of the redandant port

STP (Spanning Tree Protocol): Spanning Tree Protocol (STP) was developed before switches were created in order to deal with an issue that occurred with networks that were implementing network bridges.
STP serves two purposes: First, it prevents problems caused by loops on a network.
Second, when redundant loops are planned on a network, STP deals with remediation of network changes or failures.
VLAN (Virtual Local Area Network): VLAN is a virtual LAN.
In technical terms, a VLAN is a broadcast domain created by switches.
Normally, it is a router creating that broadcast domain.
With VLAN’s, a switch can create the broadcast domain.
This works by, you, the administrator, putting some switch ports in a VLAN other than 1, the default VLAN.
All ports in a single VLAN are in a single broadcast domain.

VTP Vlan trunking protocol STP spanning tree protocol but i need the difference not definations

VTP: VLAN Trunking Protocol allows us to centralize VLAN configuration on our network.
That means that if we create a new VLAN it will be created on all switches on the network and (that is the biggest risk) if we delete a VLAN it will be simultaneously deleted on all switches.
STP: Spanning Tree Protocol: This protocol allows use to have redundant paths in our switched network without creating loops (that could lead to broadcast storms).
While it is very useful to have a highly available network this Spanning Tree Protocol has been on several occasions the cause of a complete network failure on lots of companies.

VTP controls the trunking protocol STP stops networking loops.

VTP is for vlan trunking ( having more than one vlan on a switchport ) STP is for spanning tree.
They do different things.
