For entry level designing, which is better MS Visio or Autocad?

AUTOCAD is better option for beginners.

I agree, with those having state that have mentioned that AutoCad is the better program for entry level design ...

MS Visio I have found very primitive and better to use for Flowcharting and to show Office structures of people .. In my opinion it is not useful to draw actual drawings (like buildings or machinery)

both are good in-fact every software is good as far as you have the idea of design, you have the skill. coz these software's are used as a tool they do the way you treat them :)

Both softwares have different scenerios, and depending oon what type of benefits you want to take

I think Auto CAD is  the better option, it is widely acceptable and much easier for 2D drawings.

AutoCAD interface is a bit dull or monotone, especially in 2D. MS Visio on the other hand has templates and symbols that can easily convey the process design (or else) for a beginner.

My suggestion is to use MS Visio for starters and AutoCAD for basic component design later on.
