Oh yes, absolutely! The papparazzi are notoriously popular for this very reason. Although the media and the celebrities rely on each other for many reasons, there are certain boundaries which needn't be crossed. For example the unfortunate photographs of Kate Middleton last year at holiday with Prince Williams at their friend's mansion in France and not to forget the brouhaha regarding the publishing of their honeymoon photographs. 

The media and press in doing so are responding to the insatiable curiosity of the general public but I think certain intimate details can be missed out on while being respected in order to respect the celebrity's personal space.

But is it not the insatiable curiosity of the general public – as you put it – that journalists should respond to. Of course, we must always check and cross check the facts.
