If you are working in tender dept, is it necessary to be fully aware of the products your firm deals with , or it's the responsibility of sale dept?

If there is sales dept, they should deal with the specs and pricing, and the tender dept is supportive to them. But any way you should be aware of what your firm selling .this is part of your success. The whole issue depends on the responsibilities and authorities .

It is team work, procurement person should have some knowledge of the product for which he/she is about to tender.

How can a tender dept. tender a product unknown to them.Sorry but its very much obvious.
