I would suggest fresh hand to work onshore for a start, this will allow them to familiar and gain a knowledged. Offcourse during this periods they will expose to numbers of lesson learnt, communications and hardships which will increase their morale and confident to pursue further challenges such Offshore.

Usually a fresher wont get an opportunity. But dont upset. Choose your career, get appropriate training, and get some experience so that you can work with confidence on offshore sites. Best Luck.
