What makes a minor character memorable in you opinion, and do you have any examples of memorable minor characters?

A minor character becomes memorable if s/he changes the course of the story even playing a minor role. In 'The Catcher in the Rye' (JD Salinger) protagonist Holden's little sister Phoebe is a minor character, but when he decides to leave his home in frustration after being chucked out of school, it is she who persuades him to stay back, face the hard realities and to go back to studies. She is, indeed, memorable. 

it depends Leen wither it's in movie plot or a novel in my opinion the first impact of the minor character importance is the effect that the character had on the plot and did it made any difference to it
