Policies and procedures are safeguard keys.

Maybe sometimes a salesman translates these procedures as a barrier to his/her targets and achievements. But every organization is there to make profit AND to have the control of every single action within the company.

For example, if you gained a new customer but this customer has bad credit records, this will be a lose for the company. So, the company ought to have a procedure of credit control for existing and new customers. This may seems a barrier for the salesman or for the sales in total, because of the delay or because of the information they have to provide, but it's a safeguard key for company's profitability (and not only)

I believe policy and procedure always play an important role in company's ability to deliver great customer service, as policy and procedures are the guidelines of any company which is to be respectfully followed. Policy and Procedures will always ADD up in any services.
