I also feel that we must first of all consider the thought of going in for ISO 9000 Series certifications.

This  Standard has the potential to elevate your Quality Management System to greater heights.The Quality processes will definitely get aligned to better efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Though ISO 9000 Series of Standards is generic in nature,however sectoral specific are also available e.g. for Automobile Industry we do have TS 16949,for Telecom Industry we have TL 9000,Aerospace Industry  has AS 9100 Rev A/B/C/D.

At the same time never underestimate the hard work of doing actual Quality Audits/checks/compliance meeting of processes in product/service realisation.
