1. prepare a demo or slide at you-tube which shows summary of your website.

2. Advertisement at news paper, mag-zen and social blogs

3. SEO

4. Ad. at your target group too which will be more effective.

Patience, avoid over engineering SEO , focus on target keyword one at a time, maintain a good user experience.

The best way to get traffic to the new website is to start  PPC , Faebook ads , Twitter , YouTube and LinkedIn. Reach you target audience to let them know about your product ,services and offers.

Just Paste the website link beginning with a Label or small tempting description in youtube comments/Twitter Entertainment ,Facebook etc.

There are many factors that contribute to increasing the amount of traffic, not all but most will be applicable to general websites. If you are in a specific category then the tactic changes.
