Avoid Hobbies will prevent CV as good
Before discussing resume mistake. Its worth mentioning here to know that Resume and CV are two different things. Mostly employer ask you to submit resume instead of CV. What we do is we simply submit Cv, without knowing it that employer is asking for resume. So thats the first mistake.
Resume should be1 or2 pages long not more then2 pages. Whereas, Cv is the longer version. Minimum2 pages and can be extended up to+ pages, no restrictions at all.
2nd Mistake: Submitting one type resume to all employers. (always create/edit/modify your resume for each post).
3rd mistake: Avoid gramatical mistakes.
4th Mistake: improper use of keywords. Now a days yours resume is screened and shortlisted by a robot (applicant tracking system) not by human eye. You need to add all those keywords that client is looking for..(keywords are available in job description).
5th Mistake: Highlighting duties instead of accomplishments. Employers, however, don't care so much about what you've done as what you've accomplished in your various activities. Never use expressions such as "Duties included," "responsibilities included," or responsible for. that's job description language not accomplishments.
6th Mistake: improper or unprofessional email address or skype id like barbie@.... or killingeyes or loverboy heartcatcher. Always make professional email like Sally Majali@yahoo.com or gmail etc.
