Recognition and appreciation of contributors is the most effective tool for motivation. At times even a word of appreciation motivates human beings who are quite sensitive !

I agree with Syed. However it also depends upon the company to provide incentives for some creative and innovative ideas whic helps the company to mitigate the expenses. A borad of appreciation needs to be prepared for the best performer of the month and provide them with recognition or appreciation letters.
