- RLC in brief is a type of circuit configuration and used as model for transmission lines in general while R is resistance, L is Inductance & C is capacitance (R&L are in series while C in Parallel).

- We use inductance &/or capacitance in parallel (parallel compensation) with the load to consume or supply reactive power which has many important effect on the grid and increase its reliability

-We use Inductance in series with the transmission line as a protection in case of short circuits faults

_ We use the capacitor in series as compensation by " virtually " canceling the inductance of the transmission line which decrease the voltage drop for high distances mainly  and increase power received by the load keeping the stability in the network
