Have you ever heard the saying: 'The pessimist sees difficulty in every opportunity. The optimist sees opportunity in every difficulty.'? How hard is it to retrain ourselves to view our challenges as an opportunity to overcome meidiocrity and take our potential to higher grounds?
I think considering the fact that humans are built to be antifragile (referring to Naseem Taleb's work) any difficulty or challenges can only be dealt with an attitude of failure is acceptable, which allows people to fail, but fail faster and realising the failures faster. If a person is given the flexibility to experiment and fail, and not punished for failure however appreciate person's willingness and courage to experiment should help the people to be more optimistic than pessimistic. By human nature once failed a person would always correct oneself and move ahead with corrective actions. This will ease out pressure, provide self reliance, self governing principles, etc.
