1. Mind your language: always start by saying hello, nice to meet, thank you, goodbye; and in some cases use the customer's name if you know it.

2. Stay simple: you don't need to use formal words that you wouldn't use in real life. Make sure that you are using a vocabulary that your customer will understand as well.

3. Keep it positive: avoid negative sentences.

4. Ask questions: keep the conversation going

5. Rock your apologies: a customer service apology is stronger with a personal touch like saying "I understand  how painful this must be".

Talking with customers is an Art. You should greet customers with your eye contact and smiling, showing positive attitude and a good product knowledge, being polite and respectful, to show accuracy and credibility ,and showing that you are ready to support their needs. You should show enthusiasm while talking and professionalism as well. Your way of talking will show your personality and character with dealing with customers and your skills as well :D
