The fastest way to communicate the architectural idea to reality is by sketching with the fastest tool for the mind and which is the humain hand

Because If you used archicad or autocad to produce the idea you will lose time but by hand you will project easly what is in your mind to the paper with maximum freedom working

I don't think there is a specific way that every one will agree upon, as it depends on many factors, the creator(architect) and the tools he possess and the skills he masters, the client and his imagination abilities, the idea itself!

sometimes the best ool in the hand of  an architect is his freehand sketch, others master the BIM software, other do it perfectly in real models, it's up to you as a designer to choose the tool and the skill that you master most.

the client also is a great challenge in your presentation, some clients easily understand the3d renderd models, others don't and need more realistic and touchable models ( real models), while sometimes a very simple freehand sketches can reach their mind easily.

the idea itself forces you to choose the method to describe it, a sophisticated idea is better expressed in a tangible way, while a simple one can easily reach the audience by a simple sketch.
