It really depends on the kind of services you offer and what type of audience you have but to answer your questions categorically, definitely helping the customer which in turn will lead to wonderful customer experience a company works as much or even sometimes, better than contemporary advertisements especially in today's generation where social media is being utilized as an essential tool in promoting almost everything like products, ideas or experience whether positive or negative. Advertisement can raise awareness about the product but word of mouth is king.

Helping a customer in the time of need will not only enhance the business but also the free advertisement because good services create more references which helps in more business and also source of free advertisement.

NOT ONLY IT IS A HUMANLY NATURE TO HELP SOMEBODY, BUT IF HE IS A CUSTOMER, DEFINITELY, IT WILL BE A BIG BOOST IN LONG TERM, THAN ADVERTISEMENT. MY EXPERIENCE IS THAT, NOT ONLY THAT CUSTOMER, WHO GOT HELP, HE WILL BRING HIS FRIEND, RELATIVE TO YOUR SHOP OR RECOMMEND TO BUY YOUR PRODUCT(S).
