What are the basic characteristics of psychological counseling a counselor must possess?

Accept people as they are with their background, and to support clients to find the best way to change the negative (attitude, behavior) to the positive matter, the counse is a guider not order, 

 the most important characteristics that a counselor need to possess  are active listening ,empathetic,keen observer,understanding the clients perspective ,tactful questioning,probing etc. i.e  excellent communication skills.

Goos listener, compassionate, nonjudgmental, research oriented, encouraging, discreet, empathetic, self aware

To accept clients and feeling his or her emotion by his own demand.

BEST ATTITUDE, TOLERANCE ,WELL ANSWER, ATTENTIVE BEHAVIORS AS  WELL AS CHARACTER. BUILDING.

patience, objectivity, listening, support, confidentiality, trust, help to achieve best outcome with clients suggestions.

having Empathy and being a nonjudgemental listner.

He/she has to be a good listener, should  be keen on nonverbal communication, maintain eye to eye contact, try to rephrase what the client says, should be empathetic and not sympathetic, openness

the counselor most  be attentive ,good listener , clever , knows how to ask questions that help him understand patient's problems .than he will be able to choose the best aide .
