In my views the best way to become better as the sales person is by being truthful to your clients and being honest to them about your product and knowing all the pros and cons of the product you are dealing in. And as a company you can be better by maintaining the quality and setting high safety standards of the product. Because one can achieve the target of becoming market leader majorily by customer satisfaction.
The best way is to expand your network. Do new marketing strategies, think outside of the box be innovative in all aspect of the industry you are in. Expanding your network will also generate new connections and potential costumers as well.
In my experience as a Sales Executive for a Global Developer, I believe that building mutually beneficial business relations is the key to success in sales and increased commission.
Connecting with the right people both inside and outside of the UAE, offering them incentives and building trust with them allows for mutually beneficial collaboration with regards to bringing clients to the table.
The most successful people in sales have two things; good agents (external assistance) and excellent long term relationships with clients (who9 times out of will recommend you to friends and family due to the positive experience which they have had whilst dealing with you).

1-Passion for success.
2-Never give up attitude ,it is most important as many people give up easily when results are not coming and they just cant handle pressure.
3-Work on your strengths ,Look inside where I can do well and work accordingly.
4-If you are not able to generate sales or achieve targets analyze the reasons for underperformance.
5-Take help from seniors salesperson,marketing manager and team.Work out the action plan for the entire year see what your competitors are doing and where are you lagging.
6-Understand a job without pressure is not a sales job always be on your toes.

I think from my point of view that at the beginning you should build your strategy by searching good segment and then visiting them and follow-up intensively and serving him ( by giving whatever discount , good delivery , after sales , consultation ..... Etc) .
and the most important thing is try to be honest
