Can wireless home security systems be hacked? And is it safer than wired alarm systems?

Wired and wireless both type of security system can be hacked, however wired security system for  home is more safer than wireless security system.  Because breaching or interrupting wireless security system from some distance is more easy than wired security system.

Key component in wireless security system is wireless and we all know that signals passing through atmosphere as wireless waves can be jammed more easily with wireless wave jammers, which are available in the market. Whenever we plan a security system it should be a combination of wired and wireless security system, so that it becomes difficult to breach.

I'm always say that, no system is secure one hundred percent but you may make your system hard to penetrate.

Can wireless home security systems be hacked? Highly likely with the right focus and effort. That being said, as with any interconnected system, security is only as good as the features available and used, exploits blocked and, more importantly, the process by which they are applied, monitored and managed. All the technical security in the world is not going to help remediate poor process such as leaving a complex 64 character wifi password on a piece of paper next to your router and/or using the same password everywhere. Is wireless safer than wired? In some ways yes, in others no but again, it depends on how it's been applied. Wireless is perhaps harder to police given that the edge of your network is not clearly defined, fixed or within the realms of you control (it's a shared radio based medium after all). With wired, you can argue that it's a closed system that requires "physical" access. That being said, should you connect it to the Internet for remote access, you've now exposed your edge and it now depends on the security of that. Best approach would be to apply the best security controls you can and then ensure you have the relevant monitoring/reporting, management and remediation processes in place. For a home system, that would probably be ensure you have logging enabled and both it and your data stored off site in a secure cloud somewhere.

No system is impenetrable, and none can promise to eliminate the worst case scenario outright. Every one of them has vulnerabilities that a knowledgeable hacker could theoretically exploit. Wireless is safer than a wired alarm system used with effective combination of security mechanism.
