In your opinion, what are the features that must exist in a warehouse management system for online retailers?

For online retailers WMS should contain the following-

1. All items should have prper barcoding

2. Each item's should be properly placed in warehouse as per its marked location and must be systematically indexed

3. For properly placing and moving there shoild be forklifts in WH

4. Each product should accesible with in short time for arranging quick despatches to customers.

5. Barcoding would help proper inventory contorls and help with its invoicing.

6. Keep evaluating and modifying WMS as per requirement and experience so entire WMS should be flexible as no WMS is optimum.

In Ecommerce WMS should always be integrated with the warehouse layouts to maximize throughput. There is nothing called as best. In your case, if you have a warehouse, the best WMS system could be the one where it can automate all the manual processors and provides directions for items to be picked with the best algorithms assigned. If you have a3rd party warehouse then, software such as AWS  or S3 can be used, generally a software which can create a visibility between you and the3PL's WMS generally these are cloud based.

A- Items Should be classified and identified according to the drawing by an Ident Code or Commodity Code, if the Cade Bar Is available is good

B- The Storage Area Must be separated According to the Nature of Material 

" Mechanical, Instrument, Piping, Electrical " and the same segragation in the Software of Warehousing 

C- The Material Stored inside Whs must be Apparent and identified by the IDENT code or the Items mentioned in the packing List

D- Card Stock must be instaled in each Shelf
