How can I find a job in Qatar on marketing area? I am using LinkedIn, Bayt, CareerGulf and companies's website to apply and no answers.

I know it's a long process and I need to be patient, but I see the recruiting process it's kind different from Europe and I see that direct emails to HR managers and decision makers from companies don't help me. Same for being recommended by friends to their companies and went personally to companies where I applied for and try to speak personally with somebody there.

  • I think the idea is keeping at it, be relentless in all your efforts. Winners never quit and quitters never win.
  • Try finding a complementary job that is not necessarily what you want that way it will keep you afloat whilst you continue your search for what you want.
  • If you have capital and if you can get your market research going you could try enterprising and possibly start your own new firm but i would suggest making sure you can also find the market for what you might have in mind.
  • Doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different outcome might not work whilst job searching i guess try something different each time but stay professional.
  • The whole world is in a constant turmoil with unemployment, some better than others but i think the secret lies in the never ending continuous search whilst scouting for new opportunities in different areas as well.

At times, merely applying though social websites is not of much help, deep digging is required. For example, if you are applying for a job opening through a career section of a company website, it is important to source out the recruitment person/team of the said company. For identifying the team/person LInkedIN can play a big role. After identifying, one should try to connect with them directly to segregate their application from the masses.
