there are many tests to detect this bcteria:

- blood antibody test,

- stool antigen test

- carbon urea breath test,

- biopsy check during endoscopy with a rapid urease test

- histological examination

- microbial culture

- urine ELISA test

the biopsy check during endoscopy with a rapid urease test is the most reliable method for detecting H. pyloriinfection, but at the same time none of these tests is completely failsafe; because the biopsy is dependent on the location of the biopsy, and the urea based tests can affected by some drugs and give false negative result by affecting the H. pylori urease activity

now, the blood tests will detect the infection with H. pylori by Ab+Ag reaction, and it is detect them through or after the infection, so it cannot affirm the current infection

while the urea breath test will detect the ability of H. pylori to convert urea to ammonia and CO2, which affirm the current infection with this bacteria.

Urea breath test is better due to itis more specific for H.pylori for immediatly infection
