Auto Cad mainly used for 2D drawings preparations.

Now Revit is reached up to 7D. That includes Construction Project Planning,Quantity Calculation,Cost Estimation,Structural Analysis,Facility Management etc

When it comes to the differences between the two, it can be summed up into one acronym, BIM or Building Information Modeling. Long story short, with AutoCAD you’re using lines to create basic geometry that represents real life objects.

With Revit you’re using geometry that’s equipped with real life information. In addition to that, with Revit while you’re working in one view like a floor plan, other views are automatically being generated as well, like an elevation for example. The same goes for when you’re making changes. A change in one view will automatically be reflected in other views as well.

A good way to look at the benefits of each tool is AutoCAD is great for 2D Drawing, where only precise line work is needed, such as elevation detail drawings. Revit is great for modeling, generating cost schedules, collaboration and change management.

In the industry of design and construction, competition is fierce. Especially when it comes to getting your first job or to have your bid selected for a project. Mastering both Revit and AutoCAD can give you an edge both in the job market as well as project management in the field. Both applications currently have their place in the design process and construction industry, and putting all your eggs in one basket might not be a wise decision.

Revit program is specially created for BIM building informatikn material wherein it includes the value/estimate of the material included in the design, eg. Number of hollow blocks, number of concrete needed etc. While, in AutoCAD the precision of the drawing itself is the main core purpose of the program wherein is still vital to learn and understand the program in which major drawings is being created with theuse of this program.

REVIT is specifically used for the building information means its mainly for architecture and is quite difficult as compared to AutoCAD, while AutoCAD could be used for electrical, mechnical, civil, architectural drawings and is easy to use software. The Architectural Altocad, formerly called Architectural Desktop, is produced by Atodsk, just like the Revit program purchased by Autodesk in 2002.

Two major programs in the company. They were widely recognized. Although the architectural Atocad precedes Al-Riffit fame, in recent years Al-Riffit has been able to take the most of the attention of companies and individuals.

There are points of convergence between them in addition to some differences.

Similarities and Similarities:

- They both have tremendous capacity to build buildings, they have all the architectural tools. For example, they have walls, doors, windows, stairs, handrails, floors, ceilings, door and window panels, room tables, spaces, and others.

 

- Both are intended for architects, architects and decorators alike. These include tools for managing architectural projects such as levels, marks, symbols, schedules, tools for detail, facades, sectors, etc.

 

- Both have compatibility with other disciplines, such as structural, electrical, mechanical engineering.

The differences:

- Architectural architecture, as is evident from its name, depends on the classic ATOCAD platform. It includes all the functions of AutoCAD, as well as all architectural tools. Thus requiring prior knowledge of Classical Atokad.

As for rivet, it does not depend on autocad. Therefore, it does not require prior knowledge of ATOCAD to be able to work on it.

 

- Revit starts projects in a single integrated database file. If the project is running a person, each project is stored in only one file. If several people need to access this project, the file is broken into parts by linked files or Worksets. This principle of the work of the whole division split the project into parts for cooperation and coordination. The Rivet coordinates all the parts in real format, keeping them synchronized with each other.

The Architectural AutoCAD is a powerful place to build, integrate, and integrate closely with the classic AutoCAD platform and the widely distributed DWG files.

 

- Large Revit Power is the full coordination between the contents of the project. This means that any change in one place in View, and at one time, is changed in all views. All changes in the Revit are coordinated and updated across the entire project.

Revite is the result of construction using the concept of BIM, ie it is made for this purpose. Architectural architecture is developed through BIM solutions, but in most cases the program's least potential is used by the companies that use it, meaning that they do not fully benefit from all its capabilities. So, in this case, Atodsk did not make a mistake when it announced that Revit was the true expression of the BIM concept.

 

 

Which is better?

Many factors come into play when trying to evaluate which programs are best to use. It is a difficult choice, because both are perfectly capable of meeting the needs of architectural firms and individuals.

Factors that are often taken into consideration are:

- Company size.

- Quality projects.

- Level of skill users.

- The cost of training and development.

- Availability of skilled manpower.

- Continued commitment and desire to adopt new technology.

- Level of satisfaction or dissatisfaction with the software tools.

- Desire to compete.

 

A lot of possible reasons. Both programs need training and support. Despite their similarity and condemnation, the company has two similar programs! However, there are no plans (retirement) announced by Atodsk for architectural vehicles. The program is still working and will have a new version every year. Al-Riffit also enjoys a long future of attention, follow-up and development. In the end both programs require a radical change in methods and in the traditional mentality that used to use software as an alternative to pen and ruler.

AutoCad program for drawings it helps you to draw but Revit there is a definition for all elements like columns walls and slabs this example for structural section also Revit used for all sections ( Structural ,Arch ,Mech and Elec)
