I think it will at one point. Since the MacBook Air replaced the MacBook. Now the MacBook is replacing the MacBook Air. Maybe Apple will roll the MacBook technology into the Air and keep it around but more likely it will get one, maybe two more updates, and then they'll keep it around. As a product line, maybe the new MacBook line will inherit the Air title and maybe it won't.
Apple recently announced the new Macbook, which seems to suggest that the company is planning on consolidating the Macbook line. However, the new is even thinner and lighter than the Macbook Air, making it the better option for those who need an ultra-portable computer. That will likely spell the end of the Macbook Air. But the new Macbook also lacks something many users need from their computer more power. The new laptop will be less powerful than the Macbook Air because of the rather low-power processor that Apple has included in its design. inch Macbook Pro is a great option more powerful and still very portable. The removal of the Macbook Air from Apple's Macbook line is imminent. The Macbook Pro perhaps not.

yes,Apple INTRODUCED A LAPTOP that looks suspiciously like an evolved MacBook Air. It’s thinner, it’s lighter, it has the Retina display that the Air (somehow) still lacks. For now, at least, the MacBook is a product line unto itself. But it’s easy enough to envision a near-future where Apple’s new one-port wonder doesn’t just complement the MacBook Air; it replaces it altogether.
Asalam o Alaikum brother,
I don't foresee and end to either platform Air or Pro. The latest statistics from market research firm Gartner show Apple as the lone top-five PC vendor that grew worldwide shipments from to present, bucking a negative market trend that saw shipments decline for the fourth consecutive year in PC/Laptop sales.
Apple upgraded most of its MacBooks recently, and also introduced its new-inch MacBook in, this year it could add an update to its immensely popular MacBook Air. They might include a new-inch model and a thinner, redesigned form factor.
What that means for the rest of the MacBook lineup remains to be seen. Where would a new MacBook Air fit into a lineup with an upgraded Air and other MacBooks models? It’s possible a few Retina MacBook configurations will be released, and the MacBook Air line paired down. You can likely expect to see refreshes to other Macs this year with the typical upgrades. Expect to see Intel’s upcoming Skylake processors as an upgrade as well as performance and battery improvements. It’s likely we’ll see Macs in get USB-C and Thunderbolt3 across the board with the new Intel chipsets and Thunderbolt3, alongside some other internal changes and Thunderbolt3 may mean an update finally to the5K Apple Thunderbolt Display.

I like all apple product. They might be little complicated for other user but this is how apple wants their product to be. Safe from virus, rough and tough in use and application for many purposes. Apple as a product was the first in the industry to revolutionize the mobile industry by introducing smart phones.
Mac Book is an fantastic product introduced, apple has diversified into various product to show their presence in respective fields, being it be ipod, phones, tv, computers, tabs.
I don't see a need to discontinue Mac book by apple.
It has its own share when it comes to computers. it has wonderful features and easy to use. It is priced expensive but I think we can shell out little more for this brand. Price of quality product are not seen when it comes to consumption.
The share of mac book is increasing which can be seen in offices, houses, schools & other places and hence when it has a market to cater. I feel discontinuing mac book is out of question.
Not at all ! because the corporate sector only uses macbook air for few apps like iWork, Pages etc... i am also using it, Apple Product specialist never discontinued the Macbook Air in one core reason that was the revenue margin was going down because of there corporate clients.
No it wont. The latest rumours suggest that newin andin MacBook Air models are in the pipeline for spring or summer, with thein MacBook Air being discontinued
This is very interesting question because of the way Apple marketing the new and updated MacBook Pro. The Air got its popularity from the ultra thin/light and yet performance oriented laptop. But the Pro is getting some really heavy make over. If Apple continues to update the Pro, the Air may become less and less attractive to the buyers. And it may downgrade Air to a cheap second string laptop from Apple. I wont say Air will vanish just yet. But the future for it is not looking bright.
