simply adopt the core principles of preparation, style and design.
a few tips....Preparation prevents poor performance. Speak at a decent pace, dont be afraid to adopt your own style. I like to walk and often stand behind people when using visual aids...better for them to focus on the details and for you to see who is focused or not. There is no real right way. Just get your butterflys to fly in formation. I also have used techniques to sabotage my own presentation. Example....if using beamer....pretend its broken, then use overhead slides or revert to a meeting style using prints...it shows you have considered contingency and can get peoples attention more...all depend on knowing the people you present to...to get the best results. Keep presentation to 20 mins....if its longer create a natural break. Presentation is all about optimising communication.
