well. we raise as a team and fall as a team, the accomplishment of one reflect on all, so shared responsibility is the best way to go on my opinion, making the teams to feel they are part of organization, and their work reflect upon the success of a company.

Dear Ola,

As per my understanding motivation and fun at work place creates magic. This sounds like a simple and obvious solution, but you’ll be surprised by how challenging it can be to keep fun a priority. In this case, practice makes perfect.

Make it a habit to evaluate morale in your workplace; if it’s suffering, a break for fun can lift spirits and boost success. Give your team a chance to enjoy themselves; it’ll undoubtedly create a friendlier, happier, and all-around healthier environment for everyone.

No great measures need to be taken for this to work, either. Small breaks or activities can work wonders and create a proud team dedicated to improving workplace culture. Foot the bill for a happy hour or incentivize goal-meeting with parties and prizes.

As a leader, you’re responsible for establishing a series of goals to achieve: These should guide your decisions and, by extension, your employees'. When employees are united in working toward clear, common objectives, your team becomes a cohesive unit rather than a number of vaguely related coworkers. The ensuing camaraderie will encourage and motivate everyone, and the overall atmosphere will dramatically benefit.

Thank you for your invite. We follow many motivational techniques to  make the work seem challenging and interesting rather than mundane and boring.

1. Display the outstanding performers on notice board. Such recognition gives them utmost happiness rather then any financial reward. This makes them feel that their contribution is well appreciated by the management and they would feel they are important for their organization. The display on the notice board not only keeps employee on their toes to retain their slot this also creates urge for other employees to uplift their performance to earn such recognition.

2. Keep declaring rewards for the outstanding performers, such as paid holidays, free tickets to a forthcoming football or any other popular match, sponsorship to a overseas conference and so on.

3. Recognizing good performers by raising their role / promotion to higher responsibilities, has always proved to be a good motivator.

4. Identify publicly good performers. We present jackets to those who out perform or contribute more than their targets. For example those who achieve 100% target within the delivery dates get yellow jackets and those who exceed targets are presented with green jackets. You can choose any colors. This method has helped us raise the self esteem of the team members and they strive hard to retain their jackets and feel proud in displaying that they are achievers.

5. Set up realistic targets. Leaders need to set up achievable targets. Many aggressive leaders set up set very ambitious targets that makes employees outstretch their energies but such pressures burns them out and I have seen loss in productivity under such circumstances

6. Reach out to employees by seeking them out. Every employee loves to feel they have the ears of the management who will recognize them and listen to what they says. Display of inter personal skills in which the leader appears humane and one of them, rather than a larger than life, distant figure, this helps to have employees warm up to him and feel happy working for him.A bit of effort to reach out helps them all do better. If this extends beyond the work place it may prove to be even more encouraging to increase employee productivity.

7. Break the monotony and rotate. While leaders assign tasks according to an employee’s core competence, even the task they are best at, can make an employee bored and their work seem monotonous. This monotony can be broken with rotation and giving people new tasks and exposure to other divisions. This adds to their learning and helps them get a holistic view of the business.

8. Conduct regular Training programs.Employees are delighted when they can enhance their skills and get additional learning opportunities sponsored by the employer. This helps them learn, feel indebted for the money being spent on them, which also adds to their resume, and are obliged to perform better by applying all the knowledge gained in these courses.

9. Play soft music at the work place. We find this as a good fun source that creates soothing environment. People with us just love it. They keep contributing to the collection and remain so much connected and feel at home.

Hope you find my suggestions useful as we feel our team members remain motivated and contribute enthusiastically to the role chosen / assigned to them.
