A SLA can be an effective way to monitor and track progress of another business unit within the organisation but may limited the open communication. A formal set of rules and procedures without a formal "Service Level Agreement" will demonstrate a more friendly and effective way to interact.
Having said this, if KPI's (Key Performance Indicators) are involved and the business unit operates as completely separate business i.e not the same company or entity, a formal SLA may be the right way to go to provide protection and insurance to the business/business unit operating as the Sales Team/Marketing Team.
yes it can be done between the sales team and marketing team as SLA defines the clear cut details of the job required to be executed.
Yes it can be recommended to have an SLA between the Marketing and the Sales though being the same team, when observed from the perspective of a buyer the products to be sold should be the one that has been marketed for the sale, other hand marketing is mode of offering to the buyer and sales is mode of the negotiation of the deal that has been marketed for the sale and the buyer have shown its interest on the marketed product (promise of the company on the product)
Yes. Sales and Marketing are on the same team. But to have a great relationship between Sales and Marketing it is important to have a SLA.
Of course, SLA (Service Level Agreement) is super important. Those functional sectors are two of the several ones in an organization that need to be connected and with the strategies aligned.
It´s important to have a quantity and quality evaluation of the results/actions and all of them have the same vision. TYhjis is what is takes to the success.
