The trick to picking up a foreign language, is to put yourself in positions where you must speak it. Now considering you are in England everyone around you will be speaking the English language and therefore easy to be forced to speak in English. The idea is not to be ashamed and afraid of the mistakes you will make but embrace the wonderful experience of just randomly talking with new people and learn as you go.
