i think education is more important.because if you don't know about your field than you can not take promotion.(suppose if some one doing B.SC and you give the jobs is accountant they can not do this because this is not their field and never sole the problem but experience the + point with your education)
A Balance mix of both.
Education empowers. Education helps to understand theoretical cause of any phenomena. Whilst Experience provides confidence and expertise to perform a job in lesser time.
