It could be a good way of promotion..but from my experience the quality of product and the brand name effect hugely on the sales...another point is the area where u place the product for sales also effect on promotion.

Absolutely. It brings about customer loyalty or repeat customers as many find it worthywhile getting involved in purchasing from your premises, it also attracts more potential customers towards choosing to purchase from your premises thus giveaway merchandise (giving back) to existing customers motivates them to even purchase more as they percieve that they are really part of the business, that the business cares about them & that it treasure their relationship with them.

Agreed with the experts submission but I totally agreed with Mr. Mohsin Amin's answer. Marketers sometimes use this kind of strategy to market or to promote a product on a high season or even promoting a new product line.

If you run a small enterprise and have a limited inventory at your disposal, then it probably seems counterintuitive to give away free stuff. Your merchandise is your meal ticket, and by squandering it, you’re damaging your profit potential for the foreseeable future.

On the other hand, free giveaways can be a valuable tool for marketing your business. By exposing consumers to your product, you can quickly and easily generate awareness of your brand, and it might motivate them to come back for more. The second time a customer shows up, their purchase won’t be free.

There are definitely inherent risks that come with giving away merchandise, but the benefits are numerous as well.

Give away is a good method of branding, but the outcome depends on the promoter or the marketer at booth at the particular place. Either being a new product or old.

Are very good, but is not essential as the product must prove itself in the market between competitors, and for the gift they must turn to advertising and marketing is not a gift

It all depends on the product we are marketing and the target audience too. This method works well with food and beverages product where in the results are seen first hand when the targeted clients give their views the moment they taste it.
