The prime function of warehouse is to prevent stocks from damaging i.e. storing of goods in an efficient manner. Second main function is to receive right goods in sell able condition and to dispatch goods using FIFO method.
Generally speaking, a warehouse is a hub in a logistics network where goods are temporarily stored or rerouted to a different channel in the network.
I think prime function of warehouse are receive goods even those are raw materials or finished, physical and system supervision of the inflow of materials and reduce surplus by increasing productivity with minimum product cost.
