i agree with Mr. Dino Smajić answer
Thank you , in my opinion and from my specialization ( insurance ) point of view the first thing for organization to do regarding fire safety is a risk transfer by obtaining an insurance policy from insurance company and assure that all organization property and possessions are insured against to it's full actual value and coverage including all additional perils that the organization may be exposed to them .
Doing so the next step the organization should be aware about fire precaution to increase the degree of safety and minimizing loss occurrence probability to it's lowest , and the following my help the organization to accomplish this goal by :-
1/ installation of fire extinguishers that always be in an operational condition and always be ready to use upon need.
2/ establishing of fire unit within the premises together with well trained employees.
3/ Easy contact with fire brigade in the city.
4/ installation of water hoses.
And finally periodical checking for electrical installation .
My very best wishes.
Every person should be introduced and familiarized with
-Fire risk assessment and Fire prevention plan which includes evacuation procedures.
-Major hazards and potential risks depending on environment;
-Training of personnel regarding fire safety and evacuation:
-development of safe environment by adherence to procedures regarding wiring and electrical installation:
--development of safe environment by adherence to procedures regarding wiring and mechanical installation.
-No smoking in work areas....
etc.....
The need to use personal protective equipment and safety at work and do not underestimate its importance. Work on posters and leaflets and posters issued periodically and keep abreast of developments in the work in the field of public safety is the environment where these publications are essential and important to educate employees and raise a sense of awareness they have and thus reduce injuries in the workplace
March is Fire Safety awareness month. I dont know exactly the extent of your question be that is for corporate, industrial or simply residential. Put yourself in a situation where fire exists at the general alarm level, Ask yourself what am I gonna do? Prevention, an ounce of it is better than tons of cure as what they say. You asked question regarding "awareness" per se so let's limit our discussion to that word only.
Awareness: (n) meaning the knowledge of a situation or fact. So applying that what are thecombustion process? Heat, Fuel, Oxygen. What are sources of Heat? Electricity is a common culprit overloading or damaging wires and circuits leads to fire. Fuel, you have paper, oil, cartons, woods etc that can be used to fuel ignition. And of course Oxygen.
You remove one of it gives no fire. Theres no need for you to complicate scenarious by making complex and long HSE Management Systems after all during fire alarrm common sense tells do you still have time to read them?
Be sure you are aware of your ABCs thats the fire extinguisher as your first line of defense/ PASS acronym. So unless you deal with a complex engineered Fire Safety System you need to integrate engineering designs. Else for just awareness, I supposed have shared with you what it needs. Be aware of your surroundings, No technology can surpass a human intelligence.
