What is trend in sales analysis?

Trend depicts the highs and lows of an event, rather be it sales, profits, market or rain.  It is a pattern which is used to compare the figures in a previous given period of time to the current time.   Only trend does not help in any understanding, it should be coupled with charts and figures.

Trend in sales analysis is the same results of sales figures in a particular time and over a period of time.
