Thanks for invitation.

Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Engineering is just broad based degree like other BS/BA degrees. When the country gets Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) or there are some other growth sectors like oil, Real Estate or tourism, the employment opportunity of Engineers goes up and the reverse is true. So, if there is no employment opportunity in growth sectors, the engineers shall search and take opportunity in other industry or profession like marketing, sales, Operations, Administration etc. in order to contribute productively in the economy.  You may see lot of people working in the Banks with degrees in Arts or Sciences and only a few may be having degree in Commerce or Business or Banking.

Finally, macroeconomic issues like GDP growth, inflation and employment is the political commitment of the Govt. and Engineers as a community may influence the process of employment creation for all through Political Commitment of the Govt.

In addition to the answers I would like to add that the reasons could be because of:

1. Unclear coordination between education and labor ministries

2. Lack of consultancy and guidance

3. Yielding towards different careers

A guidance program in labor market and governmental support should help in solving such problem !

Thank You

it depends on open vacancies' and opportunities in the country, once they cant find their opportunities they can look at another countries which can offer a lot of open vacancies for engineering like gulf countries because they have continues growth in their market
